2. Right of Admission

DAWN TRAINING INSTITUTE reserves the right to determine who may or may not be admitted to our courses. This section outlines eligibility requirements, grounds for refusing or revoking admission, and the appeal process.

1. Purpose & Scope

The Right of Admission policy exists to ensure that all participants can learn in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. DTI reserves the right to refuse or revoke admission to any course if a registrant does not meet published requirements or violates our standards of conduct.

5. Appeal & Re-Admission Process

  • Appeal Submission:

    • If you believe your admission was unfairly denied or revoked, you may submit a written appeal within 7 days of receiving your notice. Send appeals to admissions@dti.co.bw, including all supporting documentation and a clear explanation.

  • Review Procedure:

    1. The DTI Admissions Committee (composed of two directors and one senior instructor) will review your case.

    2. You will receive a written response within 14 business days of the appeal deadline, indicating whether your appeal is upheld or denied.

  • Re-Admission Criteria:

    • Permanent Denial: For severe misconduct (e.g., violence, forgery), re-application is not permitted.

    • Temporary Suspension: For lesser violations, you may re-apply after a minimum of 6 months, provided you meet all admission requirements at that time.

6. Updates to the Policy

  • DTI may revise the Right of Admission policy at any time.

  • Any substantive changes will be posted on our website 30 days before implementation.

2. General Admission Guidelines

  • Eligibility:

    • Participants must be at least 18 years old (or under 18 with written parental or guardian consent).

    • Registration must be completed under the participant’s legal name, with valid contact details.

  • Prerequisites:

    • Certain courses require documented prerequisites (e.g., prior certifications, academic transcripts, or professional experience).

    • If you register for a course without meeting these prerequisites, DTI may cancel your registration and offer either a refund (per the Refund & Cancellation policy) or advise you on a more appropriate course.

3. Grounds for Refusal or Revocation of Admission

  • DTI may refuse or revoke admission—either before the course start date or during the course—if a participant:

    • Fails to Meet Published Prerequisites: Registers without satisfying published entry requirements.

    • Engages in Disruptive or Unsafe Behavior: Such as harassment, verbal threats, or physical intimidation.

    • Violates DTI’s Code of Conduct (see Policy 3): Any breach of academic integrity, discrimination, or harassment policies.

    • Substance Abuse: Attending under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that impairs judgment.

    • Refuses to Comply with Health & Safety Protocols: Such as, but not limited to, failing to follow COVID-19 safety guidelines, or ignoring fire evacuation instructions.

4. Procedures When Admission Is Denied or Revoked

  • Prior to Course Start Date:

    • If DTI determines a registrant is ineligible or poses a risk, we will provide written notice as soon as possible. The registrant may:

    • Receive a refund according to the Refund & Cancellation policy (full refund if more than 14 days out; otherwise, P350 fee applies).

    • Be directed to an alternate course that better matches their qualifications (if available).

  • During the Course:

    • If a participant’s conduct violates DTI policies, the instructor or staff member will first issue a verbal warning. Continued violation or any serious offense may result in:

      • Immediate removal from the course, with no refund or credit for remaining sessions.

      • Possible suspension from future DTI offerings, depending on severity.

    • The DTI Admissions Committee will review your case.

    • You will receive a written response within 14 business days of the appeal deadline, indicating whether your appeal is upheld or denied.

6. Special Circumstances (Case-by-Case Exceptions)

  • Medical Emergencies:

    • If a medical emergency prevents attendance, you may submit supporting documentation (e.g., a physician’s letter or hospital discharge papers).

    • Upon approval, you may receive either a full refund (minus P350) or a transfer to a future course at no additional cost.

  • Other Unforeseen Events:

    • Requests tied to verified emergencies (such as airline cancellations, family crises, or natural disasters) will be reviewed individually. DTI may grant a partial refund or credit at its discretion.

7. Changes to This Policy

  • DTI reserves the right to update or amend this Refund & Cancellation policy at any time.

  • Any changes will be posted on our website 30 days before they take effect.

  • Registered participants prior to a policy change will remain subject to the policy in effect at the time of their registration.
